Uganda to review ban on import of used electronics

The parliamentary sessional committee on finance, planning and economic development last year recommended the drafting of a policy on e-waste management to cover the disposal of all electronics.
Uganda’s capacity to manage e-waste is dismal, with the entire country having only one incinerator at Nakasongola.
However, there have been a number of advances towards the management of e-waste with Nokia and Green Point, a computer company, establishing appropriate facilities.
